Google Drive to MP4, in the browser
If you need to convert a Google Drive video to MP4, you usually want a local file that opens on phones, editors, and players. This Google Drive video downloader detects the MP4 qualities Drive has already prepared and lets your browser save 360p, 480p, 720p, or 1080p when those streams exist.
That is different from uploading the file to a separate converter. The video stays on Google’s storage until you choose a quality. Use a file link, not a folder link, and keep sharing on Anyone with the link.
How to download Google Drive videos
Open the video in Drive, click Share, change Restricted to Anyone with the link (Viewer is enough), and copy the URL. Paste it into the Drive downloader, fetch, then pick a quality. The same steps work for “how to download video from g drive”, “download video on Google Drive”, and gdrive downloader searches.
If the URL includes resourcekey=, leave it in the link or paste that code in Extra options. Add more Drive file links in the extra-links box when you are saving several public videos in one session.
Drive download links, files, and movies
Standard formats work: drive.google.com/file/d/FILE_ID/view, open?id=, uc?id=, and docs.google.com file IDs. A Google Drive download link and a g drive link downloader search should resolve to the same file ID. Direct download uses Drive’s export=download endpoint with confirm=t for the original file.
Movies and large MP4s follow the same rules as short clips. Folder downloaders are not supported here — open the folder, copy each video’s file link, and paste them as extra links. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are not video files.
Who this Drive file downloader is for
Students save lecture recordings for offline study. Creators pull shared footage into an editor as MP4. Teachers archive class recordings. Teams download demos and reports when they cannot stream Drive in a meeting.
Only download videos you own or have permission to keep. ToolSphare does not store the media file; the admin panel only logs the public URL, optional extra links, and your note so operators can see usage.
Google Drive Video Downloader Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Google Drive video downloader free?
Yes. Paste a public Drive link, fetch, and download MP4 options — no account and no daily cap from ToolSphare.
How do I download a video from Google Drive?
Share the file as Anyone with the link, copy the URL, paste it above, click Fetch, then choose 360p–1080p MP4 or the original file.
Does it convert Google Drive video to MP4?
For videos Drive has transcoded, we list the available progressive MP4 streams (often 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p). We also offer the original uploaded file when Google allows a direct download.
What if Google Drive says the quota has been exceeded?
Try the Original file option. ToolSphare requests the file through Drive’s download endpoint instead of the preview player, which often works when the view quota is exhausted.
Do I enter my Google password?
No. Never type your Google account password here. Use a public share link. The optional resource key / share code is only the extra token some Drive URLs include (resourcekey=), not your login.
Can I paste extra links or a note?
Yes. Extra Drive file links and an optional note are stored with the request so you can review them in the ToolSphare admin downloads log. Do not put account passwords in the note.
Why did my Drive link fail?
The file must be a video or downloadable file set to Anyone with the link. Folder links, Google Docs, and files shared only with specific people will fail. Newly uploaded videos may still be processing.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Copy the link from the Drive app, paste it in Safari or Chrome, fetch, then save the MP4. Large files are faster on Wi‑Fi.
Can I download private or view-only Drive files?
Not from this public tool. View-only and account-restricted files need the owner to switch sharing to Anyone with the link, or use the restricted Drive tool if you have legitimate access.
